Packing for an Ayurveda Retreat: What do I need to bring? Ayurveda Retreat Packing List

Choosing the right clothing for your Ayurveda trip is a crucial step to maximizing the positive effects of this holistic healing art...

Ayurveda Retreat Packing List: What Should I Bring?

An Ayurveda retreat is a very special journey—not just geographically, but toward yourself. To ensure you can fully focus on your inner balance once you arrive, proper preparation is key. Here is a practical packing list with everything you truly need, tailored for your stay at Tree of Life.

Your Packing List

  • Clothing for tropical temperatures (24–32 °C): Note: We provide an on-site laundry service, so there’s no need to overpack.

  • Light, comfortable clothing made of cotton or linen.

  • Extra underwear that you don’t mind getting oily.

  • Swimwear and flip-flops.

  • Toothpaste (ideally fluoride-free) and personal care products like natural cosmetic creams.

  • Shawls or scarves for meditation, sun protection, or temple visits.

  • Sunscreen of your choice.

  • Personal medication and supplements (if needed) for the duration of your stay. Please note that not all European medications are available in Sri Lanka. Please ensure you bring enough of any essential medication, as our doctors do not prescribe Western medicine.

  • A travel adapter: We recommend this one [HERE (Amazon Link)].

  • Tip: A diary or notebook. It’s worth capturing such an experience—give it a try!

  • If applicable: Medical reports and blood test results (no older than 3 months).

  • Entry Visa: This is simply about paying the entry fee. You can complete this upon arrival at Colombo airport or in advance online [HERE]. For more details, check out our blog post on the topic.

  • Openness, trust, and a willingness to let go. 🙂

We Provide the Following:

  • Shower gel and shampoo

  • Towels for your room, the pool, and treatments

  • Hairdryer

  • Special gowns, saris, or “bathrobes” for your treatments

  • A welcome folder with your daily schedule, helpful information, and Ayurveda tips

  • Cash can be withdrawn at our reception or at the bank in Maho. We also offer currency exchange services.

Any question? Feel free to ask! 🙂
